travel north america canada british columbia bennett lake

We took the White Pass & Yukon Route railroad, completed in 1900, from Carcross, Yukon, back to Skagway, Alaska, through Bennett Lake, British Columbia.
The scenery was beautiful and the area was quite devoid of people.
We stopped for lunch at Bennett Lake, a major take-off point for prospectors on the Chilkoot Trail that made it that far.
Historic photos show this large lake crowded with every sort of water craft hoping to carry gold seekers along the Chilkoot Trail deeper into they Yukon Territory.
